It’s almost time for fall hunting and fishing, and we could not be more excited at Chota Outdoor Gear! Cooler weather means more time outside without the oppressive summer heat, excellent fly fishing in colder waters, and here in Tennessee, the opening of fall hunting season.
That narrow window of cool, pristine fall weather is one of the best times of the year to enjoy the great outdoors, and we want you to make the most of it with high-quality footwear and waders. Whether you enjoy hunting, fly fishing, hiking, kayaking, or any other outdoor activity, we’ve compiled our short-list of our best gear recommendations below:
“STL” Plus Felt-Soled Wading Boots
Favorite Autumn Activities: Fly fishing in waders
If you’re looking for a felt-soled wading boot for fly fishing, then you won’t find anything better than our fan-favorite “STL” Plus Wading Boots. These boots are packed with high-quality features that competitive fly anglers, guides, and people of all experience levels enjoy. Our patented QuickLace system makes these boots as easy to wear as your favorite slippers by simply adjusting and tightening a drawstring. The durable felt soles feature cleat receptacles for our steel or carbide cleats, and the genuine leather uppers and comfortable insoles provide plenty of support and superb durability. We frequently hear feedback from guides who would go through a pair of boots each year until switching to the “STL” Plus Wading Boots and wearing the same pair for multiple years, so they are well worth the investment!

Bob Clouser Series South Fork Waders
Favorite Autumn Activities: Fly fishing in rivers or float tubes
Our Bob Clouser Series South Fork Waders were made with the serious year-round angler in mind, and they work brilliantly for the transitional autumn weather that may fluctuate between hot afternoons and cold mornings. The 3-layer fabric breathes easily for comfort in warm weather but is roomy enough for an extra layer underneath as the days get colder and shorter. Our patented, adjustable DUCS Suspenders keep these waders securely in place while allowing the wearer to adjust them from chest height to waist height or lower as needed.

Favorite Autumn Activities: Fly fishing, hunting, and kayaking
Our Camo Hippies provide the ultimate versatility for the outdoor enthusiast who does it all. A simple drawstring and cinch strap hold these hip waders securely in place and allow the wearer to adjust them to knee height or lower if necessary, and they are lightweight and breathable for added comfort. Their digital camouflage pattern blends into a variety of habitats, so hunters can enjoy waterproof protection while wading shallow streams or during rainy days without compromising their camouflage. And finally, kayakers can easily slip on these waders to launch their kayaks without worrying about cold, wet feet afterwards.
Need a versatile boot to pair with these equally versatile hip waders? If so, one of our new, upcoming boots might be just what you need…
Hybrid High-Top Felt-Soled and Rubber-Soled Wading Boots
Favorite Autumn Activities: Fly fishing, hunting, kayaking, and hiking
Our newest Hybrid High-Top Wading Boots are hitting dealers’ shelves in November 2016, and their light weight and versatility make them ideal for the well-rounded outdoorsman or woman. Also known as the Chota 14s, these boots only weigh 14 ounces each and feature mesh panels to drain water easily while keeping out silt and other debris for wet wading. A removable insole allows enough room to accommodate a pair of chest waders or hip waders. The Chota 14s come in felt-soled and rubber-soled versions to appeal to a wide range of outdoor activities. Choose the felt-soled version for wet wading, kayaking, or fly fishing in waders, while the rubber-soled version pairs with our Camo Hippies for hunting or as a standalone boot for hiking and kayaking.
